Andrew Grimes JCP, JSCCP

British born, in the county of Suffolk in the beautiful region of East Anglia, moved to Tokyo in 1986 and now lives here in Japan as a permanent resident, speaking and working in Japanese and English. Has over 18 years of experience providing mental health counseling in Japan and as a clinical psychologist (JSCCP) and psychotherapist (JFP) provides individual counseling, couples counseling and family counseling as well as group therapy services. Uses a client centered approach combined with solution focused therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy, adapting the approach in counseling to suit and assist each person find effective solutions, from within themselves and in their own terms, to the specific problems they are facing.

Individual counseling, couples counseling, marriage counseling, family counseling, group therapy, international marriage counseling, personality disorders, family problems, interpersonal relations, personal worries, and problems encountered in adapting to living in Tokyo as well as in a modern multicultural Japan.

Provides counseling and therapy for people with anxiety disorders (such as social anxiety disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder and panic disorder), stress, depression, trauma, abuse, domestic violence and PTSD (Traumatic Stress Disorder). As a qualified JSCCP Clinical Psychologist and qualified JFP Psychotherapist has extensive experience providing coordinated psychological and social support to clients in teamwork with the client's Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare nationally licensed psychiatrist.
